The need
Snow College IT needed a clearer way to manage budgets, equipment inventory, and replacement planning without relying on disconnected spreadsheets.
What it does
The team built a centralized portal for budgeting, inventory, and computer-replacement workflows, including QR-code-based asset tracking.
My role
- React and TypeScript frontend and FastAPI backend contributions
- QR-code inventory functionality for physical asset tracking
- 10+ demonstrations to IT leaders; user and product-owner training
- Mentored four interns — onboarding, code reviews, weekly milestones
Technical approach
React + TypeScript frontend over a FastAPI backend integrating Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
Status
The IT organization adopted the portal to replace spreadsheet-based processes with a centralized application.
What I learned
Regular demonstrations gave leaders a clear view of the product and helped build confidence in the new workflow.
